FAQ: will consuming protein powder make me gain weight or get bulky? πŸ‘‡πŸ»

In my experience of coaching women, the overwhelming majority of them are under eating protein when they start with me. This is due to a few things.

1 – Not enjoying the taste of meat. πŸ₯©

2 – Not understanding how much protein they need to hit their goals. πŸ₯š

3 – Not understanding what a complete protein or a β€œhigh protein” source is. πŸ—

Protein powder can be an excellent way for women to hit their protein targets. It’s easy to consume and gives you a quick boost of 24-30g of protein, with minimal carbs or fat.

Many women worry that protein powder will do one of two things, though. Those being: make them gain weight or make them bulky.

When you start working with a trainer or coach, your overall caloric expenditure should increase. In my experience, most women are overeating carbs and fats when they begin with me. My clients find that their body composition improves by increasing their caloric expenditure and tracking macros. πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Most of my clients who see an improvement in body composition use protein powder to hit their protein target because it is convenient. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

The way you gain weight is by over consumption of calories and underdoing activity. You get bulky if you put on muscle and don’t lose fat simultaneously. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

BUT neither of those two things have anything to do with protein powder.

I love protein powder and have used it for years! What are your thoughts on protein powder? I’d love to know; COMMENT BELOW! πŸ‘‡πŸ»
